Health and Safety

Nothing is more important than the health, safety and wellbeing of the people working for and with Ox Mountain. The company complies with statutory and best practice associated with health and safety at work, following HSE advice in the UK and Safework in Australia at the minimum. We also seek to work with clients to eliminate unnecessary maintenance work, to minimise breakdowns and to ensure that maintenance is planned effectively and carried out in a safe, calm and well-organised environment.

Sustainability

Ox Mountain works closely with clients in the resource industries, for example in Mining, Freight Rail and Energy. Our clients are all committed to reducing or eliminating greenhouse gas emissions in their operations and meeting the world's objectives for addressing climate change.

“Innovation and technological progress are key to finding lasting solutions to both economic and environmental challenges, such as increased resource and energy-efficiency”  (United Nations)

Ox Mountain believes that IronMan® is part of the solution for improving sustainable development within industry. IronMan® ensures high performing, reliable and efficient equipment, providing sustainable outcomes, which drive value for our clients. This is directly in line with UN Sustainable Development Sub-Goal 8.2, which states that we must “achieve higher levels of economic productivity through diversification, technological upgrading and innovation, including through a focus on high-value added and labour-intensive sectors”.

Information Security

Data protection must be of paramount importance to any modern organisation. At Ox Mountain our ISO 27001 certification with the British Standards Institution (BSI) demonstrates our dedication to the highest standards of Information Security Management. As a technology business, we are trusted to hold client and third party data, and ensure its security. The ISO 27001 certification is supported by stringent annual reviews to ensure Ox Mountain continues to maintain a strong information security posture.

Waste reduction

Ox Mountain’s enterprise software, IronMan®, optimises maintenance, identifies and promotes best practises, keeps a log of part history and provides intelligent task lists. These things contribute to a reduction in waste, through a minimisation of wasted part life, the prevention of early or unnecessary maintenance activity and finally, through optimal part inventory.

“Sustainable consumption and production is about doing more and better with less”  (United Nations)

IronMan® helps companies to achieve the 12th UN Sustainable Development Goal, ‘Sustainable consumption and production’ Including subgoals 12.5 on waste reduction and 12.6 which outlines the need to encourage companies to adopt sustainable practises. More sustainable consumption and production, and waste reduction will have a knock-on effect for our clients' emissions of greenhouse gasses, in line with the 13th UN Sustainable Development goal on ‘Climate action.’

Incorporating part life into maintenance strategies is a novel approach to waste management within the resources industry. By keeping a log of part history, IronMan® is able to flag parts they do not need to be replaced in upcoming maintenance tasks. IronMan® helps industrial equipment operate more efficiently, for longer. It has prevented the wastage of tens of millions of dollars in unnecessary preventative maintenance. In this way, IronMan® helps to drive down demand for unnecessary part manufacture, ultimately reducing emissions during the manufacturing process, the transporting of parts and maintenance operations and therefore emissions.

Additionally, unoptimised reliability maintenance can lead to significant financial losses. For example, it is easy to waste more than US$20m per annum due to unoptimized reliability in a medium sized resources operation. By improving and standardising maintenance processes, the performance and cost of maintenance can be significantly improved. The organisations we work with are at the forefront of developments into sustainable energy, and savings on maintenance could be used to pursue sustainable growth. This supports both the 8th UN Sustainable Development Goal for the promotion of ‘Sustainable economic growth’ and the Seventh UN Sustainable Development Goal for ‘Affordable and clean energy’, including specific sub-goals surrounding investment in energy infrastructure.

Office sustainability

Our approach to sustainability carries throughout the company, from our product, to our offices and employee attitudes. Ox Mountain employees are committed to commuting either by foot, bicycle or public transport, to minimising the use of consumables, such as paper and water and by ensuring the efficient use of energy throughout our premises.
